Claiming ties you to the team you run so matchups, mentions and trade votes find you. Claim in the app, or with /claim in Discord.
Joining a league puts you in the room. Claiming a team is what tells FranchiseHuddle which team is yours — and that’s what makes matchups, @-mentions, trade votes and matchup channels find the right person.
Claim in the app
- Sign into app.franchisehuddle.app and open your league.
- Go to the teams or owners area — unclaimed teams are flagged as open.
- Find the team you run and choose to claim it.
- Confirm, and you’re tied to that team across the whole league.
Claim in Discord
If your league runs the Discord hub, you can claim from the server:
/join— join the league and claim an open team in one step./claim— tie your Discord account to the team you run./unclaim— release a team if you claimed the wrong one.
Why claiming matters
- Your matchup channels tag you and your opponent automatically.
- Trade proposals and votes route to the right owners.
- The owners directory shows your record and how to reach you.
- Tournaments and superlatives only include real, claimed teams.
Claimed the wrong team? No problem — unclaim it and claim the right one. Nothing is permanent, and your commissioner can help sort it out if two people grab the same team.
After you claim
Set your console, gamertag and Discord handle so the league can actually find you to schedule games — see Set your console, gamertag & Discord handle in the For Owners & Players topic.
